Todays class was on how we could use video to enhance our students experience. During class I had the opportunity to explore video editing on Clipchamp. I made a short introduction video about myself and my inquiry topic. You can view that video on my ‘About Me’ page. I really enjoyed making the video and it got me thinking about different ways I can use video as teaching tool.
One way that I like to use videos in my personal life is for learning language. For the past few years I have been interested in learning ASL. I find it difficult to find people to sign to. Watching signed stories on YouTube is one way I practice my ASL.
The video above was made by a teacher for his class. Pre-covid I saw only a few teachers using videos like this to enhance their teaching. Now post-covid it is a lot more common. As a new teacher it is important I understand technology and am able to quickly adapt. Making videos is a good way to practice this and I plan on making a few more videos for my blog. I like the idea of using it as a way to share language.
